Birth

William Kronheim was born on December 25, 1890 in Brooklyn, New York. He lived in Brooklyn until his marriage to Helen Gluck in 1911. That's when he moved to Newark, New Jersey.

Education

After high school, William attended Pratt Business School.

Occupation

Prior to moving to Vineland, New Jersey in 1913, William Kronheim worked for the Title Guarantee and Trust Company in Brooklyn.

He moved his family to Vineland at the urging of his younger brother, Murt. Together, they purchased a chicken farm knowing little about the poultry industry. Unfortunately, the business did not do well and within a year or so, William left the business and opened the city's first auto supply and tire dealership.

In 1946, William moved the business across the street and expanded its product line to include home appliances.

Civic Engagement

William was very active in the Vineland community. He served as a volunteer fire fighter, traffic officer, and was very involved in the Elks.
