Uncanny Resemblance

Esther's brother, Siegfried Goldschlager, had two sons, Felix and Alfredo. Siegfried and his family lived in Vienna, Austria and fled to Buena Aires, Argentina during World War II.

In 1969, Alfred Stern and Ruth Kronheim Stern visited Alfredo and Felix Goldschlager in Buenos Aires. As you can see from the photo below, Alfred Stern and Siegfried Goldschlager* had a very noticeable resemblance.

Siegfried Goldschlager passed away in 1950 at the age of 85.

Alfredo Goldschlager

After Alfred Stern's death in 2011, my family found a letter among his possessions which was signed by Alfredo Goldschlager and written in Spanish.

I recently had the letter translated. Below is a copy of the original letter as well as a translated version. In the letter, Alfredo discusses his family upbringing and what it was like to growing up in Austria when the world was at war.
